The district has a wide variety of fauna and flora to offer. Since most of the district is hilly it enjoys a temperate climate. Above 3,800 meters (12,000 feet) the slopes are full of rhododendron forests.

Namchi - Meaning sky high nestled among the hills at an elevation of 1676 meters (5499 feet), commands panoramic view of the snow capped mountains and vast stretches of valley. Samdrupste is situated 8 kilometers away from the town at an elevation of 2133 meters (6998 feet). A structure of Guru Rimpoche of 42 meters (138 feet) height is the world’s highest statue. The Foundation stone was laid by his Highness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Temi Tea Garden - Only tea garden existing in the state produces quality tea and has an international market. The garden is spread out on a gently hill slope originating from the Tendong Hill and provides a magnificent view for the surrounding villages. The scenic view from the top of the ruin scanning across deep valley to the mystic heights of Khanchendzonga ranges is something to be cherished this remains etched in memory for long. The visit to the factory could be an eye opener for those wanting to know more about orthodox tea processing.

Char Dham (Solokhop): It’s a replica of char dham temple, a huge statue of Lord Shiva, makes the place more attractive, the sculpture of the temples are also very good, and overall the place is on the top of the hill, so view is excellent from this place.

Sai Temple: It’s a replica of Shridi Sri Sai Baba Temple at Shiridi, its newly constructed. The sculpture of the temple is excellent, the place is very nice.

Ravangla - At the base of Maenam Hill is Ravangla, a small township and transit to various tourist destinations in South Sikkim and West Sikkim. It is also an upcoming tourist spot and transit point for trekkers to Maenam Hill and Borong. There are accommodation facilities and numerous short nature trails. A trek down to the sacred cave "Shar Chok Bephu" is a must. Ravangala is known as the “Cherrapunji of Sikkim”, July is the wettest month, with the average annual precipitation being in excess of 300 cm. The height above 2100 meters (6930 feet) receives regular snowfall in winter.
